OVERVIEW
Invision Power Board BETA 3 is the second full, un-encoded release and is available as a "Development" release in your client center (which is near the bottom of the download manager after logging in).
This release fixes up over 20 bugs identified in the first BETA release.
BETA RELEASE LIMITATIONS
Please note that this release is NOT officially supported in any way. This release has been made available to help identify and fix bugs in the software and is not of release quality in any way and should NOT be used in a production environment in any instance. We are also NOT offering installation service on this release.
Some areas of IPB are yet to be completed, these include:
* Skinning tools (search and replace, etc)
* Calendar (Event notifications)
* Components (Installation, ACP permission restrictions)
UPGRADING FROM IPB 2.0.x
There is NO way to upgrade your IPB 2.0.x board to IPB 2.1.0 so please don't try as data loss WILL occur!
UPGRADING FROM IPB 2.1.0 BETA 2
There is no direct upgrade path from IPB 2.1.0 BETA 2 as the upgrade system has not been finished. However, there are no SQL changes so upgrading is just a case of uploading all the source files EXCEPT conf_global.php. Once the files are uploaded, you will need to rebuild your master skin set. Do this via: ACP -> Look & Feel -> Skin Tools: Rebuild Master Skin Set. You can then click on "Rebuild All" to rebuild your skin caches.
UPGRADING TO FUTURE BETA RELEASES
Upgrade scripts MAY be provided to upgrade you to future BETA releases although this isn't guaranteed as it depends on further changes to the code's core.
